MSG and Science

No "No MSG"

No “No MSG”, and anti-anti-MSG statement.

I don’t much like diet crazes, and I like even less hysteria over misinformation or worse, lies.

I made an image to represent how I feel about the anti-MSG movement.  I say “NO!” to “No MSG”.   I could have made another, with a slogan.  “MSG, let it be!” but I didn’t think of it until just now.

Compound Interest has a great infographic about MSG.  Enlighten yourself or a friend, and help to restore a little more sense back to the world.

Here is a preview of the infographic.

In Memory of Grandma Williams

My grandma Thelma Williams died last week, yesterday was her memorial service at San Joaquin Memorial Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.  I gave her a eulogy that focused on, what I feel, was her best attribute, faith.  It’s an attribute that branched into other great attributes, such as kindness and steadfastness.  I’ve included the eulogy below for anyone who would like to read it.

Hello, my name is Orion, and I am a Christian. And while faith cannot be inherited, because a person must find it and cultivate it individually, I am confident that my faith comes from a seed planted by my Grandma Williams.

Grandma was, in many ways, a human bible. She embodied the word of God with the way she lived her life.

Galatians 5:22

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray without ceasing

Proverbs 31:26

She opens her mouth in wisdom,

And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

Genesis 35:11

Be fruitful and multiply.  🙂

She saw every type of situation as an opportunity to share God’s love and his word; times of celebration, times of grief, Christmas time. (she loved giving the grandkids bibles and other Christian books.)

As a child, I didn’t fully appreciate Grandma. I enjoyed visiting just fine, she was always kind and pleasant. But it wasn’t until I was older and could speak with her about more mature topics that I began to understand that she wasn’t just nice to me because I was her grandchild, or a family member. She was kind because she loved, and she loved because of Christ.

She lived out her faith to the best of her ability and with a helping of Grace from God. Her legacy, if I may be allowed to say, is the body of believers that have grown up from seeds carefully planted, who continue to plant more seeds, furthering the kingdom of God. I must say, she’s left behind quite a garden.

Extravagant Mercy Lyrics

Original music and words by Orion Williams

I’m immersed in your love

I’ve been covered by grace

Make your home in this temple

Settle down in this place

Extravagant mercy

Lavish in love

Abundant forgiveness

Rains down from above

Extravagant mercy

I can’t understand

The way that you love me

Despite who I am

Ev’ry day you renew

Ev’ry day I deplete

That my soul will realize

That you make me complete

Extravagant mercy

Lavish in love

Abundant forgiveness

Rains down from above

Extravagant mercy

I can’t understand

The way that you love me

Despite who I am
